2026 Ford Mustang in Orange Fury Metallic Tri-coat parked under soft daylight with a Dennis Sneed Ford dealer plate

The 2026 Mustang comes in ten exterior colors, three of them new this year. But on this car the paint is only where it starts — seat belts, brake calipers, stripes, and interior themes are all part of the same decision, and some combinations cannot be ordered together. Here is the whole palette, with swatches and paint codes.

What colors does the 2026 Ford Mustang come in?

The 2026 Ford Mustang is offered in ten exterior colors: Adriatic Blue Metallic, Avalanche Gray, Carbonized Gray Metallic, Molten Magenta Metallic Tinted Clearcoat, Orange Fury Metallic Tri-coat, Oxford White, Race Red, Shadow Black, Vapor Blue Metallic, and Blue Ember Metallic. The first three are new for 2026, and Blue Ember Metallic is exclusive to the Dark Horse Appearance Package.

About these swatchesScreen swatches are approximations, not paint matches. Tri-coat and tinted clearcoat finishes in particular shift substantially with light and angle, and no flat color chip can show that. Use these to narrow the list, then come look at the real thing — especially Orange Fury and Molten Magenta, which are the two that photograph least like they look in person.

What are the new 2026 Mustang colors?

Three colors are new for 2026: Adriatic Blue Metallic, a deep saturated blue; Avalanche Gray, a light neutral gray; and Orange Fury Metallic Tri-coat, a vivid metallic orange. They join the returning Race Red, Shadow Black, Oxford White, Carbonized Gray Metallic, Vapor Blue Metallic, and Molten Magenta Metallic Tinted Clearcoat.

Orange Fury is the one that will divide people, and it is the same tri-coat Ford introduced on the Maverick this year. Adriatic Blue Metallic is the quieter addition and probably the more popular one long term — a deep blue that reads almost black in low light and opens up considerably in sun.

What blue colors does the 2026 Mustang come in?

Three: Adriatic Blue Metallic, a deep saturated blue that is new for 2026; Vapor Blue Metallic, a lighter silvery blue; and Blue Ember Metallic, which is available only with the Dark Horse Appearance Package. Antimatter Blue and Grabber Blue are not part of the 2026 palette.

Blue is where Mustang shoppers get tripped up most, partly because the nameplate has cycled through so many of them. If you have been searching for a specific blue and coming up empty on 2026 inventory, it is worth checking whether that color is still offered at all.

Blue What it looks like Availability
Adriatic Blue Metallic (B2) Deep and saturated; nearly black in low light New for 2026, across the lineup
Vapor Blue Metallic (K1) Lighter, silvery, cooler cast Across the lineup
Blue Ember Metallic (E1) Deep blue with warm depth in direct light Dark Horse Appearance Package only

On Antimatter Blue and Grabber Blue: both were Mustang colors in recent years and both still turn up on color charts and in search results. Neither is part of the 2026 palette. If you want one, you are shopping used — and we can help you find one.

Which 2026 Mustang colors have restrictions?

Blue Ember Metallic is the main one — it can only be ordered with the Dark Horse Appearance Package, which also brings a black-painted roof, blue seat accents, Notorious Blue brake calipers, and a distinctive hood graphic. Some color and package combinations also exclude certain stripe and appearance options.

The Mustang has more ordering restrictions around color than anything else we sell. Appearance packages, stripe options, seat belt colors, and interior themes all interact, and several combinations simply cannot be built together. Rather than publish a grid that goes stale the first time Ford adjusts production, we will check a specific combination for you while you are on the phone. Call 816-409-1975.

Color on a Mustang is not just paint

Beyond the exterior, the 2026 Mustang lets you choose seat belt color, brake caliper color, interior theme, and stripe treatment. Seat belts come in Race Red, Black with Red Stripe, International Orange, and Prime Blue on select models, and brake calipers are offered in Black, Red, or Notorious Blue.

Seat belts

New for 2026, Black with Red Stripe, International Orange, and Prime Blue join the previously available Race Red. A Hyper Lime belt comes with the RTR Package’s Lime interior. Availability depends on the interior theme you choose, and a few combinations are excluded.

Brake calipers

Three colors are available across the lineup — Black, Red, or Notorious Blue — with specific colors tied to particular models and appearance packages. The RTR Appearance Package adds Hyper Lime calipers, which are exclusive to it.

Interior themes

Six themes: Black Onyx, Space Gray, Carmine Red, Emberglo, Black and Blue, and Black Blue Dinamica. The last two are exclusive to the Dark Horse and the Dark Horse Appearance Package. Carmine Red and Emberglo are offered on Premium models with the appropriate seating material.

Stripes and appearance packages

Over-the-Top racing stripes are available on fastbacks in several treatments, and hood accent stripes come with the Dark Horse. The Bronze Appearance Package, Mustang Nite Pony Package, and the new FX Package each change wheels, badging, and grille finish. Note that Over-the-Top stripes are not offered on the convertible.

Which Mustang color should you choose?

Practically: Shadow Black and the darker colors look sharpest clean and show every speck of dust. Oxford White and Avalanche Gray hide road grime best. Tri-coat and tinted clearcoat finishes involve extra layers, which makes body shop color matching more involved after a scrape.

  • You want to be seen: Orange Fury Metallic Tri-coat or Race Red. Nothing else in the lineup competes.
  • You want it to age well: Carbonized Gray Metallic or Avalanche Gray. Both hide dust and light swirl marks.
  • You want classic Mustang: Race Red, Oxford White, or Shadow Black.
  • You want something people will ask about: Molten Magenta Metallic Tinted Clearcoat.
  • You keep it garaged and clean: Shadow Black. Nothing looks better washed, and nothing looks worse dirty.
  • You want the rarest one: Blue Ember Metallic, which requires a Dark Horse with the Appearance Package.

Although every reasonable effort has been made to ensure accuracy, absolute accuracy cannot be guaranteed. Color names and paint codes verified against Ford’s published 2026 Mustang information. Swatches shown are approximate screen representations and are not accurate paint matches; metallic, tri-coat, and tinted clearcoat finishes vary considerably with light and viewing angle. Color, stripe, seat belt, caliper, and interior availability varies by series and package and changes through the model year, and some combinations cannot be ordered together.
